Roxbury Memorial High School (first) opens.

[1852] Originally Roxbury High School for Girls (first), it is located on Kenilworth Street. The building is enlarged to house Roxbury High School for Boys (third) and become Roxbury High School in February 1861. It moves to a new building (second) on Warren Street in 1885.*
